The Last Kampong

Nope this is not the title of the latest movie.

Recently I have often grumbled to myself that there are really no places left in Singapore that does not look like Singapore. Really. Some places like the Botanic gardens, Marina barrage, Esplanade have all been shot to death. It is indeed a daunting challenge to create images that is unique and one that will make a person scratch his head wondering where they were taken from. The photographer in Singapore will definitely need to muster all his/her creative juices to produce such images.

However, today was no such day for me, because I discovered.. The Last Kampong!

Ok ok, for my more knowledgeable readers who already know about it, you can stop sniggering now :p

It was indeed a revelation to discover this little place, hidden somewhere in Yio Chu Kang, that is still relatively untouched by the masses of concrete buildings sprouting around it. And I have Davidson and Lena to thank, because they were the ones who told me about this place!

Good taste in location aside, Davidson and Lena is really a cool couple. They were also easily one of the most relaxed couples that I have met in front of the camera, so we really had a blast shooting today. And the sunset today was… just gorgeous!

The entrance to the Kampong

After our Kampong shoot, we quickly made our way to Labarador Park, hoping to catch the golden hour and sunset…

Thanks guys for the great fun today. Looking forward to shoot your AD!
